Replacing a bath with a walk-in shower

The commonest job we do. The bath comes out, the waste moves, the floor and walls are made good, and the area is waterproofed before anything goes back on. Typically 3–5 days.

Getting the fall right

A walk-in shower works or fails on the fall to the waste and the waterproofing beneath the tray or tiles. Both are invisible once it's finished, which is exactly why they're where corners get cut. We tank the whole wet area — not just a strip of tape at the joints.

Showers for reduced mobility

If the shower is being fitted because getting in and out of a bath has become difficult, the details change: a fully level entry with no lip, a wider opening, a slip-rated floor, grab rails fixed into something solid, and a seat at a height that actually suits the person using it. Worth measuring properly rather than buying a package and hoping.

What it costs

Most bath-to-shower conversions land between £2,000 and £5,000 depending on the tray, the screen and how far the waste has to move. You get a written itemised price, not a range, after the visit.
